The tight-grained redwood tops were sliced from old-growth logs reclaimed from the bottom of a California river, whose mineral-rich river bed infused the wood with an array of color hues. Sonically, redwood blends the warm overtone complexity of cedar with the attacking power of spruce, while ebony yields some of rosewood’s bell-like fidelity but with the more linear output of maple. This Custom Eastman 00 is based on Gibson's LG2 / B25 shape and size, but thanks to the Thermo Cured Adirondack top, premium Mahogany back and sides, and Vintage Varnish finish, we feel that tonally this guitar has a richer, fuller, and cleaner voice and is more responsive than what you would expect from the Gibson, making it a much more versatile instrument. Excellent for finger style but can handle a flat pick quite nicely, it's an amazing 00.
