G&L SB-1 Bass Swamp Ash Body Premier Blonde Translucent Finish
When Leo Fender launched the G&L SB-1 bass in 1982, he packed his latest innovations in pickup and bridge design into a straightforward, hard-working bass. At that time the SB-1 had an MFD single coil pickup and no pickguard, which was a departure from the classic single-pickup passive bass. By 1985, however, the SB-1 had taken the form it has today, with an MFD split-coil humbucking pickup and pickguard. In some way, the SB-1 set the stage for several G&L models to come: Leo took a a classic design and applied his core improvements, in this case, the MFD pickup and Saddle Lock bridge Learn More$0.00Out of stock

Silver Street Taxi Electric Travel Guitar
Silver Street, Inc. was incorporated in June 1979, started by Bruce and Craig Hardy. Apparantly it was named after the street where Bruce Hardy lived at the time. Bruce Hardy designed the Taxi Guitar in 1981 featuring a full scale, and shipped with a gig bag that allowed it to be transported in a NY City taxi. The Taxi's innovative design was the subject of a U.S. patent application filed in 1981, granted in 1983. Five prototypes were built by legendary luthier Richard Schneider, who was a Gibson guitar consultant at the time. Production of solid-body guitars started in 1983, and ended by 1986. A bit of history about the Taxi model. The first guitar made for Tommy Shaw was in "Pepto Bismol" Pink, and later a Tommy Shaw model ws built. Guitar who played the Taxi include Paul Warren fomr Prism, Mike Reno from Loverboy, Michael Stanley, Chris Hayes of Huey Lewis and the News, Craig Chaquico of Jefferson Starship, and Rick Springfield who bought three and actually used one on an MTV video. Gibson SG Vintage 1965 / 1967
When Gibson revamped the Les Paul Standard of 1958-’60 into the Les Paul/SG of 1961 (later simply SG Standard), it introduced a wealth of features that continue to appeal to a wide range of players, long after the reintroduction of the single-cutaway model that it was intended to supercede, many of which are shared by today’s SG Special and SG Standard. The solid mahogany body was thinner and lighter than any solidbody Gibson had produced before, and it still provided a wealth of rich, warm, woody resonance, but with a little extra snap and zing to the tone — all without the back ache Learn More$0.00Out of stock
