Designed by Chris Martin, the CEO-7 is a "00" slope shouldered short scale reminiscent of models from the "Golden Era", with a gorgeous Autumn Sunset Burst finish,Golden Age Relic Nickel 2517 tuners with cream plastic buttons, and authentic headplate lettering. Providing you with a nice booming sound is a solid Adirondack spruce top.Other accoutrements include a striaghtline bridge with drop-in saddle, bone nut, dovetail neck joint, X-scalloped bracing, a modified V neck, and Old Style 18 positioning inlays, grained Ivoroid heelcap, and a Delmar tortoise color pickguard. Perhaps the most revered vintage D-28s are the ones created in 1937 with forward shifted hand-scalloped X-bracing, Adirondack red spruce soundboard and a 1 3/4" neck width. This addition to the Authentic series is a recreation of the original 1937 model offered with Madagascar rosewood back and sides. Martin’s new Vintage Tone System (VTS) is employed for the top and braces. The new Martin Vintage Tone System (VTS) uses a unique recipe that is based on the historic torrefaction system. SoldMartin D-45 Gene Autry Model 1994 #30 of 66
In 1933, Martin made, at the request of the then famous country & western star Gene Autry, its first D-45. Perhaps, the most famous '45 ever made, it now stands in the Autry Western heritage Museum in CA. In 1994, Martin released a very successful limited replica edition. Like the original, features a 12 fret neck with slotted peghead. The label is signed by both Gene Autry and C.F. Martin IV and numbers the guitar as 30 out of 66 made. There were 2 versions, one with the signature at the 12th fret and the other with original bold signature along the length of the fingerboard, which is what we have here. It features amazing Brazilian rosewood back and sides, and master grade spruce top, fossilized ivory bridge pins and end pin. This Guitars was collector owned and is in excellent, as-new condition.
