They start with a visual inspection: they check aesthetic and structural elements of the body and all components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. We based this Custom Shop Martin on the discontinued Vintage series 0-28VS and we've been ordering it for LA Guitar Sales ever since that model was dropped. We changed the neck to modified low oval with 1-3/4" nut and 2-1/4" saddle spacing which translates to a more versatile and more playable acoustic for most folks.
