  10. Gibson SG Vintage 1965 / 1967
    Sold

    Gibson SG Vintage 1965 / 1967

When Gibson revamped the Les Paul Standard of 1958-’60 into the Les Paul/SG of 1961 (later simply SG Standard), it introduced a wealth of features that continue to appeal to a wide range of players, long after the reintroduction of the single-cutaway model that it was intended to supercede, many of which are shared by today’s SG Special and SG Standard. The solid mahogany body was thinner and lighter than any solidbody Gibson had produced before, and it still provided a wealth of rich, warm, woody resonance, but with a little extra snap and zing to the tone — all without the back ache Learn More

  14. Gurian 3H-S3R With K&K Mini Pickup
    Sold

Gurian 3H-S3R With K&K Mini Pickup

This is a 1980 Gurian 3H-S3R. Gurian Guitars was a manufacturer of high quality acoustic guitars based in New York City, then Hinsdale, New Hampshire and finally West Swanzey, New Hampshire, from the 1960s to 1981. The guitars were designed by luthier Michael Gurian who also supervised production. The company was one of the earliest "boutique" guitar brands in the United States, offering an alternative product to those of the larger, factory-based makers of the day, with instruments characterized by a distinctive shape, features and sound. The S3R is a mid-sized instrument with plenty of power, brilliance and sustain. This size is quite versatile, an excellent choice for solo or accompaniment. The Size 3 model has become a favorite for recording work thanks to it's balanced tone. The 3H was a higher grade version of the standard S3R featuring 3-piece back, herringbone inlay on the top, back and sides gold plated Schaller tuners. Specs are as follows: Top Wood: Sitka spruce Back and sides: East Indian Rosewood Binding: Maple Rosette: Herrinbone OAL Length: 41" Body length: 19.5" Upper bout: 12" Waist: 10.5" Lower bout: 15.25" Maximum depth: 4" Scale: 25.7" Nut width: 1 19/32" Saddle Spacing: 2.25" Electronics: K&K Mini Condition is excellent with a few handling marks here and there but no issues to mention. Silver Street Taxi Electric Travel Guitar

Silver Street, Inc. was incorporated in June 1979, started by Bruce and Craig Hardy. Apparantly it was named after the street where Bruce Hardy lived at the time. Bruce Hardy designed the Taxi Guitar in 1981 featuring a full scale, and shipped with a gig bag that allowed it to be transported in a NY City taxi. The Taxi's innovative design was the subject of a U.S. patent application filed in 1981, granted in 1983. Five prototypes were built by legendary luthier Richard Schneider, who was a Gibson guitar consultant at the time. Production of solid-body guitars started in 1983, and ended by 1986. A bit of history about the Taxi model. The first guitar made for Tommy Shaw was in "Pepto Bismol" Pink, and later a Tommy Shaw model ws built. Guitar who played the Taxi include Paul Warren fomr Prism, Mike Reno from Loverboy, Michael Stanley, Chris Hayes of Huey Lewis and the News, Craig Chaquico of Jefferson Starship, and Rick Springfield who bought three and actually used one on an MTV video.
