SoldSilver Street Taxi Electric Travel Guitar
Silver Street, Inc. was incorporated in June 1979, started by Bruce and Craig Hardy. Apparantly it was named after the street where Bruce Hardy lived at the time. Bruce Hardy designed the Taxi Guitar in 1981 featuring a full scale, and shipped with a gig bag that allowed it to be transported in a NY City taxi. The Taxi's innovative design was the subject of a U.S. patent application filed in 1981, granted in 1983. Five prototypes were built by legendary luthier Richard Schneider, who was a Gibson guitar consultant at the time. Production of solid-body guitars started in 1983, and ended by 1986. A bit of history about the Taxi model. The first guitar made for Tommy Shaw was in "Pepto Bismol" Pink, and later a Tommy Shaw model ws built. Guitar who played the Taxi include Paul Warren fomr Prism, Mike Reno from Loverboy, Michael Stanley, Chris Hayes of Huey Lewis and the News, Craig Chaquico of Jefferson Starship, and Rick Springfield who bought three and actually used one on an MTV video. Pre-OwnedBreedlove Crossover 00 BLK A-Style Mandolin
A crossover instrument for guitar players looking to expand their skills. The Breedlove Crossover OO Mandolin is designed to be the go-to instrument for guitarists wishing to add depth to their repertoire by learning to play the mandolin. This carved, solid-top mandolin features a wider nut width and a radiused fretboard inspired by the Breedlove Custom Shop for exceptional comfort and playability at an affordable price. This is the optimal instrument for guitar players looking to expand their skills by picking up the mandolin. Body Shape The Breedlove O body is an elegant rendition of the traditional teardrop "A" body shape that has typified mandolin style from Celtic to bluegrass. Woods The solid, carved Sitka spruce top is complimented by the carved maple back and sides -- a timeless combination that produces exceptional resonance, projection and musicality. Neck The semi-gloss finish on this handcrafted neck provides the most comfortable and fastest playing neck possible by preventing hand binding from the sticky texture of a full-gloss finish. Fretboard and Nut Width The radiused rosewood fretboard is optimized for comfort and playability, and the 1-3/16" nut width provides wider string spacing for faster, easier chording. Soundhole The oval hole provides a rich, full voice that blends well with other instruments in a band or ensemble. Aesthetic Elements The semi-gloss black finish on this mandolin is contrasted by an ivory binding at the top and back body. The binding provides protection for the instrument and highlights the elegant dimensions of the mandolin. Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA Breedlove's comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play great right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: they check aesthetic and structural elements of the body and all components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they then adjust for maximum playability. Next, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped. Features Body: Breedlove O Soundhole: O Top: Solid, carved Sitka spruce Back and Sides: Carved maple Neck: Maple with semi-gloss finish Body Finish: Semi-gloss - Black Nut Width: Bone 1-3/16 Fingerboard: Radiused East Indian rosewood Peghead Veneer: Rosewood Binding: Ivoroid Bridge: Rosewood Tuners: Nickel with black buttons Condition is excellent. NewEastman D'Ambrosio Offset '62 Shoreline Gold Lollar Pickups #24058
“Salt Air, Dry Brush, Ocean Waves, Misted Forests, Weathered Boulders. Our home, California, inspires the design that sculpts the shape and timber that make D’Ambrosio Series.” The Eastman D’Ambrosio Series, designed and built in California, pays homage to the enduring Golden State tradition of innovating right to the edge. With beautifully worn curves echoing the coveted coastline and a player-centric design, the D’Ambrosio Series may feel comforting and familiar. However, these are unique instruments where innovation blends with tradition. When something new also feels reassuringly familiar in an old-fashioned way, you know you’ve found a new home. D’Ambrosio guitars carry on the heritage of matching California design with down-to-earth playability. Introducing the FullerTone Neck MORE TONE, More Sustain, More Stability At the heart of D’Ambrosio Series design lies a beautiful innovation: the FullerTone neck. Envisioned and brought to life by master luthier and head of design, Otto D'Ambrosio, this completely new long-tenon, 2 bolt, neck to body connection redefines industry standard. The body-to-neck joint is the most important connection on a guitar. It acts as a bridge of energy; transferring resonance, sustain and tone while providing stability to the guitar. The FullerTone neck fulfills this ambition, securing unprecedented three-times greater neck-to-body contact for unhindered resonance transfer. The gracious body geometry cradles the neck in perfect harmonious position, secured by two machine-threaded screws locked into steel anchors embedded in the neck. The complete design is a fusion of old-world craftsmanship and modular versatility—the first bolt-on neck tuned to rival the sustain and stability of a set-neck guitar. With the Fullertone neck, Otto’s vision for a guitar with seamless tonal continuity, from headstock to bridge, is fully realized; maximizing its tonal potential. We call it T.S.S: More Tone. More Sustain. More Stability. Beautiful Tonewoods Tell Stunning Stories Swamp Ash and wildfire-burned Phoenix Pine serves as the heart of D’Ambrosio Series. Wildfire-burned Phoenix Pine is one of two tonewoods that serve as the heart of D’Ambrosio Series Roasted Phoenix Pine, salvaged sustainably in the process of regenerating the Oregon wilds, is given a second life, with a controlled heat treatment granting complexity - modern era clarity with smoky overtones.
