Martin M5 Boak / Jorma Custom Shop 0000 with Case
This is one of the rare Custom Shop 0000's Dick Boak dubbed the M5 and it is this guitar that was the inspiration for the Jorma M30 signature model. This was supposed to be a run of 14 guitars but we are told only 7 were completed, one of which Dick Boak lent to Jorma who fell in love with the guitar instantly. Jorma ended up buying that borrowed M5, and during his next visit to Martin he and Dick drew up the specs for a slightly watered down version of the M5 that became the M30 Jorma signature model. Guild Starfire SF-4 1997
The double cutaway Starfire series was introduced in late 1963 beginning with the Starfire IV and Starfire V. The Starfire VI followed in 1964. These guitars were made to capture part of the market that was almost exclusively enjoyed by the Gibson ES series guitars. Like the Gibson ES-335, the Starfire IV has a center block of wood that runs from the neck to the tail and is glued to the top and back. This reduces feedback and increases sustain. Up through 1967 the neck was joined to the body at the 16th fret. After 1967, the neck-to-body joint was moved to the 18th fret to facilitate better access to the upper registers. Breedlove Crossover 00 BLK A-Style Mandolin
A crossover instrument for guitar players looking to expand their skills. The Breedlove Crossover OO Mandolin is designed to be the go-to instrument for guitarists wishing to add depth to their repertoire by learning to play the mandolin. This carved, solid-top mandolin features a wider nut width and a radiused fretboard inspired by the Breedlove Custom Shop for exceptional comfort and playability at an affordable price. This is the optimal instrument for guitar players looking to expand their skills by picking up the mandolin. Body Shape The Breedlove O body is an elegant rendition of the traditional teardrop "A" body shape that has typified mandolin style from Celtic to bluegrass. Woods The solid, carved Sitka spruce top is complimented by the carved maple back and sides -- a timeless combination that produces exceptional resonance, projection and musicality. Neck The semi-gloss finish on this handcrafted neck provides the most comfortable and fastest playing neck possible by preventing hand binding from the sticky texture of a full-gloss finish. Fretboard and Nut Width The radiused rosewood fretboard is optimized for comfort and playability, and the 1-3/16" nut width provides wider string spacing for faster, easier chording. Soundhole The oval hole provides a rich, full voice that blends well with other instruments in a band or ensemble. Aesthetic Elements The semi-gloss black finish on this mandolin is contrasted by an ivory binding at the top and back body. The binding provides protection for the instrument and highlights the elegant dimensions of the mandolin. Set-Up and Quality Assurance in Bend, Oregon USA Breedlove's comprehensive quality control process provides the player with an instrument that will play great right out of the box. Prior to shipment, every Breedlove instrument undergoes a rigorous multi-point inspection in Bend, Oregon by their expert U.S. quality control team. They start with a visual inspection: they check aesthetic and structural elements of the body and all components for flaws. Next, each guitar is tuned and undergoes a play test, where craftspeople check nut height, relief, action, and string height. Based on the results of the play test, they then adjust for maximum playability. Next, each instrument is buffed and polished by hand with painstaking attention to detail. Once the instrument has passed inspection, a signed QC sticker is placed, and the instrument is carefully packed and shipped. Features Body: Breedlove O Soundhole: O Top: Solid, carved Sitka spruce Back and Sides: Carved maple Neck: Maple with semi-gloss finish Body Finish: Semi-gloss - Black Nut Width: Bone 1-3/16 Fingerboard: Radiused East Indian rosewood Peghead Veneer: Rosewood Binding: Ivoroid Bridge: Rosewood Tuners: Nickel with black buttons Condition is excellent.
