Silver Street, Inc. was incorporated in June 1979, started by Bruce and Craig Hardy. Apparantly it was named after the street where Bruce Hardy lived at the time. Bruce Hardy designed the Taxi Guitar in 1981 featuring a full scale, and shipped with a gig bag that allowed it to be transported in a NY City taxi. The Taxi's innovative design was the subject of a U.S. patent application filed in 1981, granted in 1983. Five prototypes were built by legendary luthier Richard Schneider, who was a Gibson guitar consultant at the time. Production of solid-body guitars started in 1983, and ended by 1986. This Custom Eastman 00 is based on Gibson's discontinued LG2 / B25 shape and size. Tonally this guitar has a richer, cleaner voice than what you would expect from the vintage Gibsons making it a much more versatile instrument. This guitar has no structural issues, but it does show small dings on the body, neck, and on the headstock. Neck angle is perfect, frets are good, and electronics work as they should. The case is alo in good condition, but the tolex has some wear around the edges. It is perfect inside.
