This Custom Eastman 00 is based on Gibson's LG2 / B25 shape and size, but thanks to the Thermo Cured Adirondack top, premium Mahogany back and sides, and Vintage Varnish finish, we feel that tonally this guitar has a richer, fuller, and cleaner voice and is more responsive than what you would expect from the Gibson, making it a much more versatile instrument. Excellent for finger style but can handle a flat pick quite nicely, it's an amazing 00. We added Vintage Varnish finish with a slight distressed look, with subtle gold burst to jazz up the look, and premium Gotoh tuners to make sure you stay in tune. This is #22 of 50. This NAMM Show Special is inspired by an instrument of George Bauer, who was a Philadelphia luthier around 1890-1910. The SS-0041GB-17 is limited to 50 instruments and is crafted from a European spruce top with Vintage Tone System and Guatemalan rosewood back and sides. This 12-fret Grand Concert model features a dovetail neck joint with hide glue construction, grained ivoroid binding and heelcap, an ebony bridge and ebony fingerboard that is bound with grained ivoroid and inlaid with an abalone and mother-of-pearl custom snowflake and block design. This amazing guitar was hand built in Taylors tiny Lemon Grove shop back in 1986 by Bob Taylor with help from Larry Breedlove, well before they started using CNC machines for everything. This model was used by artists like Neil Young and Prince who appreciated the ultra-playable neck. Original pre-CNC Taylors are getting harder to find as collectors start to see the value.
