00-X2E Cocobolo The remastered X Series is made to play. The 00-X2E Cocobolo is a smaller body acoustic-electric featuring a hand-rubbed satin spruce top with an elegant abalone pattern rosette and eye-catching cocobolo pattern high-pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides for added durability and looks, without sacrificing that classic Martin tone. Playability enhancements include a thinner fingerboard with a gently beveled comfort edge and refined string spacing, and a modernized bridge contour for a smooth and comfortable playing experience. It also features a select hardwood neck, fingerboard, and bridge for improved sound and sustain, and Martin E-1 electronics with a built-in chromatic tuner and volume, tone, and phase controls. Made from 2002 to 2004, the Martin CEO-5 was a special edition D-12 style dreadnought with bearclaw Sitka spruce top. Both bridge and fingerboard were striped ebony. Martin CEO C.F. Martin IV asked the Acoustic Guitar Magazine Discussion Group for their design ideas and the resulting guitar was named as the CEO's choice. The interior paper label was signed by C.F. Martin IV. We based this Custom Shop Martin on the discontinued Vintage series 0-28VS and we've been ordering it for LA Guitar Sales ever since that model was dropped. We changed the neck to modified low oval with 1-3/4" nut and 2-1/4" saddle spacing which translates to a more versatile and more playable acoustic for most folks.
