Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird Vintage 1989 Pre Fender: Price: Sold Used/New: Used     Condition: Mint Description: This is a vintage 1989, pre-Fender Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird reissue in mint condition with original case featuring a chambered, single-cutaway mahogany body, three-piece mahogany neck, Ebony fretboard with vintage hump-block Alamo inlaysFilter Tron Humbucker pickups - 3-way pickup switch, neck, bridge, and master volume controls, master tone control, multi body, fingerboard and headstock binding, black headstock overlay with inlaid pearloid Gretsch logo, gold pickguard with Gretsch logo, G-Arrow control knobs, deluxe gold hardware and knurled strap retainer knobs, and adjustable truss rod. This was the first year of the Jet firebird reissue done under the watchful eye of Fred Gretsch Jr. before Fender took over and moved all Gretsch manufacture to Japan. This guitar is as mint as any new guitar you are likely to see hanging around at your local guitar store which is quite amazing for a 20 year old guitar. The original case is also in excellent shape with only a few scuffs here and there. Current list on this model is $3025 with a street price of around $2100. You can save big with this one and get a way cooler guitar to boot.
