In 1933, Martin made, at the request of the then famous country & western star Gene Autry, its first D-45. Perhaps, the most famous '45 ever made, it now stands in the Autry Western heritage Museum in CA. In 1994, Martin released a very successful limited replica edition. Like the original, features a 12 fret neck with slotted peghead. The label is signed by both Gene Autry and C.F. Martin IV and numbers the guitar as 30 out of 66 made. There were 2 versions, one with the signature at the 12th fret and the other with original bold signature along the length of the fingerboard, which is what we have here. This guitar has no structural issues, but it does show small dings on the body, neck, and on the headstock. Neck angle is perfect, frets are good, and electronics work as they should. The case is alo in good condition, but the tolex has some wear around the edges. It is perfect inside.
