Martin Vintage 1800's Size 2 New York Model:

Description: This is a mid 1800’s CF Martin New York model featuring gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood back and sides, Cedar neck, Spruce soundboard, and Ebony fretboard and bridge. The stamp on the back of the headstock read CF Martin New York, and the upside down stamp on the neck block also reads CF Martin New-York.

Dimensions are as follows: Overall length 37”, Body length 18-1/4, Upper bout 8-1/2“, Lower bout 12”, Body depth lower bout is 4”, Nut width 1-13/16”, Scale is 24.4”, and the sound hole is 3-1/2“, making this a Size 2.

This guitar has had some cracks repaired as can be seen, and the frets were replaced to the 12th fret. Everything appears to be original including the tuners with the elephant bone knobs. Although there is no sign of a neck reset the neck angle is very good and will not need one. The A string tuner is missing the gear, and the bridge has two cracks that will need some attention, but overall it will need very little work to be a fabulous player. Although we can only play it with five strings it just sounds amazing! It has a full rich sound way out of proportion to it’s size, and the action is fantastic.
