Larrivee Parlor Special Edition: Price: Sold Used/New: Used     Condition: Excellent Description: This is a Larrivee Parlor made in their Canadian shop before they moved production of these fantastic little guitars to California. This guitar features the now discontinued satin finish which is much thinner than the current high gloss they are using. Many of us feel these older guitars are a bit more responsive, as such they are being sought out by collectors and players. For those of you that are not familiar with this model, it is a 3/4 size guitar but it is not a travel guitar, but in fact a true parlor model. It features hand carved forward shifted X-bracing, hand fitted dovetail neck joint, all solid wood construction with Spruce soundboard, Mahogany body, one-piece Mahogany neck bound with Ivoroid, the fretboard and bridge are rich Ebony, and the body is bound with gorgeous flamed Maple. The scale is 24" and the nut width it 1-3/4" so its an easy guitar to play, and perfectly suited for finger style, although it will handle a flat-pick very well, in fact it's been fitted with a clear pick-guard at the factory. This guitar is in perfect condition with only two small dimples from normal use. Frets are perfect, and there are no structural issues at all. Comes with original hard shell case shown. These are not being made anymore with the satin finish which most of us prefer but are now only available with the thicker high-gloss finish and a retail price of $1500.
