Dobro DM-1000 "Shield": Price: Sold Used/New: Used     Condition: Excellent Description: This is an OMI made Dobro Model DM1000 “Shield“, which was the absolute top of the line model built by them. The resonator features gorgeous fully engraved bell-brass bosy with chrome finished, one piece Flamed Maple round neck with 14-frets clear of the body, and easy playing medium/low action perfect for either bottle neck blues or finger style. Condition is near mint with no dings or dents, and straight neck. In fact the only thing we could find that would keep it from our “as-new” rating was a tiny finish mark right above the shield logo on the back which will not show up in photos. The sound is pure vintage seasoned metal body Dobro that the current crop of imported metal body resonators just can’t touch. Gibson bought the Dobro name in 1993, and started building them in Nashville in 1997, but they have since stopped building them all together so prices can only go up. Considering the last street price for a Model DM1000 was about $5600, we think this one is a steal. Comes with hard-shell case shown.
